Woke up at half past six this morning (on my day off) and switched on BBC News only to find out that Black Rhino’s have been announced extinct in the wild. I’m not one of these wild animal loving activists, but I get very upset when I hear about issues like this, where animals are hunted and murdered for their skin and body parts. I strongly disagree with the killing of animals for fur, I don’t understand why people feel the need to wear real animal skins when man made substitutes are readily available and are of extremely high quality and a fraction of the cost, but this makes me even more angry. Animals like the Black Rhino are hunted for the rare and expensive material of which their horns are made of. To these people, the worth of the lives of these endangered animals doesn’t equate to the importance of their own personal gain. I feel sick thinking about the lack of morals these people possess.
At the risk of sounding profoundly shallow, I have been cheered up by a delivery of makeup from E.L.F. I have bad skin at the minute and ordered a concealer and as I got to the checkout, I was greeted with a message telling me I’d won a prize. And so I have received a bundle of goodies and have been successfully cheered up. In an attempt to resurrect this post from the materialistic avenue it’s hurtling down, I would like to stipulate that the products available from Eyes Lips Face are in no way tested on animals, nor made from products that have been either.
I might be a bizarre-o, hippie, opinion machine, but I’m still a girl!
